Best of Show trophy went to Michael Green of Livermore, owner of 1959 Aston Martin DBZ/4 Mark III. The car was originally owned by his father, who worked for the British automaker in the U.S. as a resident engineer. "Lost" for a number of years after the father died, Michael found it in 1971 on a used-car lot in Oakland. He purchased it for $450. MSRP on the 1,311 built was about $9,000. Value today? "$100K and change," he said. As were the others presented, the trophy was a one-off, custom built from auto parts by Urban Suburban of Lafayette, one of the show's chief sponsors.
